ExtendCast™ cucumber is a retail bag for packing fresh cucumbers immediately after their harvest and keeping them fresh and in marketable state at 10⁰C to 17⁰C for up to 21 days.
By modifying the atmosphere and humidity in the bag, ExtendCast™ Cucumber saves up to 25% weight loss and extends the shelf life of the cucumber up to double, compared to “naked” or traditionally packed (stretch wrapped or shrink packed) cucumber. Additionally, ExtendCast™ Cucumber saves unnecessary processes, the use of a box liner and repacking at the destination market, thus saving money and letting for swifter and more cost-effective logistics and distribution of the produce.
